Happy New Year!  I hope that this year brings good tidings and felicitations!

This year brings new changes to our chess programs.

I will be coaching at three different locations this year.

 St. Thomas More has humbly accepted my offer to become the chess coach

 Tuesdays: St. Thomas More Time 3:30 - 4:30 pm

Wednesdays:  Brook Hollow Library 3:30 - 6:00 pm

Thursdays:  Semmes library 4:00 - 6:00 pm   Repairs are almost complete...along with a nice surprise!

Come by every Thursday afternoon at the Semmes.

Bring your own chess boards, some will be available.

a game just played with pawns.

Objective: To learn how a pawn moves, takes and works with pawns to create defensive structures. 

                  Learn how to take advantage of a passed pawn.

How to Play:

Set up your board with only pawns:

As in regular chess make sure the board is correctly set with H1 is on the right white square

White side moves first.

Pawns move and take like a regular chess game.

First Pawn to reach the last row wins.
