Basic Open Principles

  1. Control the center of the board

  2. Move central pawns to: (e4,d4,e5,d5)

  3. Develop knights and bishop (toward the center)



  4. Don't move the same piece twice for at least 6 moves or more.


  5. Castle 0-0 or 0-0-0.
     







                                                                                 


6. Center Rooks as back up to the Queen.



These are not rules, they are simply a guide for the beginner to use.  Play "heads up "  that means to watch your opponents moves and move your pieces as needed.
