Notation

Notation

Why notate a game?  Why keep a record? Why?

Most scholastic players seem to dread to notate,
it takes away from the rhythm of their game.
Players at a lot of non-rated and some
rated beginner tournaments waive the notation rule.

But this is one of those things like riding a
bicycle, takes patience and practice.

You might stumble at first, and feel that your
game slows down. You feel that you have lost
your idea, or train of thought on the game.

I would start with easy steps like notating at
practice games. Try notating in increments:
5, 10, 15, 20, 25 lines and so on.
With this in mind you should be able
to eventually do a complete game smoothly.
